“The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others.”
- Mahatma Gandhi
Ric and I have always been active in our respective community and it began at a young age. Whether that was volunteering through our church, community organizations, we were both raised in a home that valued giving-back to the community. When we had the kids we wanted to instill the same virtues we grew-up in and instill the importance of giving-back.
The kids have been serving in the community as young as being a week old, whether that’s attending functions with us, or helping organize donations, they have grown-up around a community of volunteers. In creating, #GuerreroPartyof5, we wanted to provide a space for people from all walks of life can learn from other volunteers, and find their “why.” We want to be able to help curious minds who are interested in volunteering or donating and connect them to a place of service which brings meaning to them, we also want a place for where seasoned volunteers to have the ability to guide newcomers and help them on their journey to serve their communities.
Most importantly, we want to be able to promote philanthropy, voluntarism and charity and inspire those in our community to give back and serve with grace, hope and purpose.
